Principal Welcome
Welcome
Welcome Back, Pickering Families!
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! Our faculty and staff are excited to welcome everyone back to Pickering and are looking forward to the start of another school year.
All students will begin school on September 2, 2026.
School Hours: 7:45 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Attendance is important, and we encourage families to make sure students arrive on time each day and are ready to start their day.
Students will have IXL practice during homeroom each day. This will be part of their morning routine and provide time for students to work on important academic skills.
First Day Information
Grade 6: Students will report to the cafeteria to meet their academic guidance counselor and cluster teachers and receive their homeroom assignments.
Grade 7: Students will report to the second-floor hallway. Homeroom locations will be posted outside the Technology classroom (Room 211).
Grade 8: Students will report to the first-floor hallway. Homeroom locations will be posted outside Room 111.
*Teachers will also be in the hallways with homeroom lists to help students find their homerooms.
A Few Reminders
Morning Breakfast: All students have the opportunity to receive breakfast at school each day. Students can enter the cafeteria for breakfast from 7:15–7:35 a.m. Faculty members will be in the cafeteria to supervise students.
Student Computers: As part of a district-wide change, middle school computers will be available during the school day but will no longer go home each night. Computers will remain at school and be charged in homerooms.
Dress Code: Please review the Lynn Public Schools dress code with your child. The dress code is available on the Lynn Public Schools website.
Cell Phones: Student cell phones must be powered off during school hours. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the school at 781-477-7440. If a student needs to contact a parent or guardian, they can ask a teacher or staff member for permission to use the office phone.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Pickering. Please reach out to the school if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Mrs. Philbrook
