Volunteers Needed

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

Welcome to the Lincoln-Thomson Elementary School 2023-2024 school year. We're excited for a new year and need your help to make it an extra special one for our kids.  

My name is Meghan Green Burgo and I am helping to coordinate the volunteers for our school library.  Our library is run solely by parents who volunteer a small amount of their time.  

Let me explain what volunteering in our school library consists of. There are two parents needed for 1 – 2 hours each morning or afternoon of the school day. Each volunteer would only need to do it 1 day a week during the school year. During this time, the teachers bring their students to the library and the parents assist them in finding a book and checking them out.  

In order to be able to volunteer in the Lynn Public School system you must fill out or have a valid CORI on file. The CORI consent forms are available in the school office.  

If you are interested in donating a couple of hours of your time per week it would be greatly appreciated. I will also try to place you with your child’s class which makes it extra special for both of you. The kids love to see their parents volunteering in the school and especially in the library!  

Reading is such an important part of our children’s education so please lend a helping hand to keep our library open and running for another year!
