Welcome

Welcome to Sewell Anderson Elementary!

Dear Sewell Anderson Families,
As we prepare to get started on a new school year, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as the new principal of the Sewell Anderson School. I am very excited to be joining this strong group of educators and vibrant school community.

I am joining you after serving as a school social worker and teacher in elementary schools in Boston and Revere. I served as a clinical coordinator for grades 4-8 in Boston serving some of the highest need students. Most recently, I was the assistant principal for eight years at a middle school in Revere. Much of my work focused on supporting teachers with best practices in the classroom, partnering with families, creating a welcoming and inclusive school community, and ensuring student needs were met throughout the school day. I am very happy to be returning to elementary school and working with you and your children at Sewell Anderson Elementary School.

At Sewell Anderson, we are committed to offering students a rigorous and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. We look to partner with families to ensure students are best prepared for life beyond elementary school in order to become active participants of an increasingly diverse global community. As the school year gets underway, please be on the lookout for more information. We welcome your feedback so please feel free to say hello, send an email, or give us a call anytime!

Our Code of Conduct:
“Today and every day I will give my best effort. I will show respect and honesty. I will treat others the way I want to be treated. I will make good choices. I will be ready to learn. I will take good care of school material and property.”

This is important! You can do it! We won’t give up on you!

Thank you,
Elizabeth Daily Ortega
